Where to Look First
Different records belong to different agencies. Choose the route that matches the custody or record type.
- For someone in the county jail, use jail inmate records and call the Sheriff's Office if the roster is unavailable.
- For booking photos, use jail roster mugshots and ask the Sheriff's Office about public-records routing.
- For charges filed after an arrest, use court records after a jail arrest and the Lincoln County Court clerk route.
- For facility rules, use the Lincoln County Detention Center page.
- For sentenced state prisoners, use the NDCS incarceration records search.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP locator or ICE ODLS.
State Prison Record Requests
NDCS public-records requests are separate from Lincoln County jail records. NDCS asks requesters to include contact information, state that the request is made under Nebraska Public Records Statutes and Neb. Rev. Stat. 84-712, and describe the records and date range. Requests may be emailed to DCS.PublicRecords@nebraska.gov or mailed to Public Disclosure Unit, NDCS, P.O. Box 94661, Lincoln, NE 68509.
